The Walking Group do walks of about 3 to 5 miles in length, moderate terrain walked at an easy pace.

Programme 2025

Walking

  • All the Walks will be on the first Tuesday of the Month and will be approximately 3 to 4miles in length walked at an easy pace. We usually end up at a café but bring a drink and snack if you wish as we usually have a short stop en route.

  • Meet at Morrison’s, Mansfield Woodhouse, at 10.00am.  If you are going straight to the walk please let Ann Madden know.

7th January 2025 Thoresby  3 miles.  Start: Thoresby Park Car Park (NG22 9EP). Card payment only. Leaders: Ann & Liz
4th February Gedling Country Park 4 miles.  Start: Spring Lane car park, Mapperley, NG4 4PE. Car Park approx. £2. Leaders: Colin, Ann & Susan.
4th March Bolsover Start: Bolsover Car Park, S44 6GA.  Leaders: Jenny & Gladys.
1st April April Sutton Resevoir Start: Kings Mill Farm,  NG17 4JP.  (Car park £3). (approx. 3 miles-Easy. Leaders: Carolyn & Helen. 
6th May Poulter Park Start: Poulter Park Car park (first car park under bridge) Whaley Road, Langwith NG20 9HS.  Leader: Gladys & Margaret.
3rd June Nottingham Trent Canal 9.30am Morrisons. Start: Nottm. Station Tram Stop. Leader: David Green.
1st July Farnsfield – Southwell Trail. Start: The Plough Pub, NG22 8EA. Leaders: Colin & Anne.  
5th August Calverton Start: Car park near the Library on Main Street, NG14 6FP. Leader: Ann & Liz.
2nd September Thieves Wood to Newstead Start: We will meet at Morrisons as normal at 10 am. The walk starts from Thieves Wood car park, which is off the B6139. The walk is an easy 4mile walk.  Leader: Marilyn Hughes.
7th October Spa Ponds Start: Liz’s House (3 miles). Planning for 2026. Leaders: Ann & Liz.
4th November NO WALK Hi Marilyn, yes, I am leading the walk to Newsted. We will meet at Morrisons as normal at 10 am. The walk starts from Thieves Wood car park, which is off the B6139. The walk is an easy 4mile walk. Hope that is helpful Marilyn H.
2nd December Farnsfield & Hexgreave Start: Hexgreave Hall,  (NG22 8LS). Leaders Ann & Liz. This walk ends with our Christmas lunch,  venue TBC.
