Learn, Laugh, Live

and that’s just what we do!

From January 2022, the meetings at Turner Hall will be going back to our original format of starting at 9.45 am – 12 noon and will include a speaker.  The number of members attending is still restricted to 100 and therefore if you wish to go to any future meetings you will need to contact Margaret Taylor, preferably by email, if not on email then by phone, so your name can be added to the list for that month.  She will contact everyone on the list prior to the meeting date by email or phone, or at the meeting previous, to inform you if you have been allocated a space.  Please remember that if you are booked to come to a particular meeting and find that you are unable to attend, let her know as soon as possible so your place can be offered to someone on the Reserve List.

  • You will be asked to give your name as you come into Tuner Hall and then please find yourself a seat at one of the socially distanced tables. Hand sanitiser will be available on every table.
  • Please be aware that all face masking, social distancing, hand washing etc. is still compulsory when visiting Turner Hall.

We are hoping that with effect from February we can use the kitchen and provide you with a cuppa.

If you are unsuccessful in gaining a place at any meeting you will be added to the Reserve List for that month. I would also like to assure members that if they miss out on one meeting, then you will definitely be invited to attend a future one.

The Committee looks forward to welcoming members to future meetings.  Unfortunately Postal Members will not be able to attend the General meeting, but during 2022 you will be invited to your own Coffee Mornings where you can meet each other and the Committee.  Dates will be in the newsletter and on Sherwood u3a Web site. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Margaret Taylor or any other member of the Committee.

Refreshment Volunteers Wanted

We all hope to start enjoying tea/coffee and biscuits at the monthly meetings but this cannot happen without our refreshment volunteers.

There are usually 4 volunteers on duty at each meeting and coffee morning/afternoon tea events who are on a rota to work every few months, although initially we are doing a trial run with only 3. We also have a list of reserves to cover absences.

Can you help?

If you would like to volunteer your help or want more information please contact :  Jane Lowe.

Welcome to Sherwood U3A, Mansfield Woodhouse

We are an organisation formed by local people whose aim is to work together to enjoy a variety of learning opportunities and social activities.

Our Members are retired or semi retired and generally over 50 (though there are no age constraints). Their objective is to share fun, friendship and informal learning in a vibrant, varied and enjoyable way.

This website is to provide potential members with some idea about what we offer, but more importantly the site is here to provide existing members with up-to-date information on what is available, what is happening in the future and what people have been doing at recent events.
