February 13th Monthly meeting – starts 09.45 am – 12.00 noon – Speaker – Roger Prescott – Juke Box Jury. The Audience will be transported back into what it was like to be a BBC audience in the 1960’s.

March 13th Monthly meeting  and Easter Raffle- starts 09.45 am – 12.00 noon – Speaker – Tom Andrews – The Greatest Policeman, Captain Athelstan Popkess. Could it be possible that just one man is responsible for modernising the British Police service and transforming it from its Victorian era firmly rooted in ‘Beat policing, to today’s highly-mobile responsive model?

April 10th Monthly meeting and Easter Raffle – starts 09.45 am – 12.0 noon – Speaker – Geoff Rowe – “30 Years of British Comedy” – A talk about the experiences of producing and promoting British comedy, which includes anecdotes about performers worked with including Ken Dodd, Barry Cryer, Jo Brand and more .

May 8th Monthly meeting and AGM – starts 09.45 am – 12.00 noon. – The Business Secretary is giving notice that the Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 9th May 2024 at 09:45 at Turner Hall, Welbeck Road, Mansfield Woodhouse. There are vacancies on the committee and anyone wishing to volunteer should inform the Business Secretary or any other Committee Member by Thursday 25th April. If there are more applicants than vacancies, then a vote will take place at the AGM.  Followed by – Speaker –  David Skillen – The Gretna Girls and the Devils Porridge. A fully illustrated talk tells the story of the people of Gretna and their development of The Devils Porridge during World War 2.

August 14th Monthly meeting – starts 09.45 am – 12.00 noon – Speaker –  Lesley Taylor, Veoila – Lesley talks Rubbish !!

September 11th Monthly meeting – starts 09.45 am – 12.00 noon – Speaker – Dave Andrews – 100 Years of Auntie – An illustrated talk tells the story of the BBC’s 100 years from its inception under Lord Reith to the present day.

October 9th Monthly meeting – starts 09.45 am – 12.00 noon – Speaker – Ian Morgan – Inspector Hopkinson’s Discovery. Travelling back to 1895 the audience is the jury in a true story of murder. Guilty or not?? Will they agree with the original jury??
