The 2021 Christmas Ramble

The weather was damp and dismal! The fields which we should have crossed were ankle deep with mud! BUT it didn’t rain and we changed the route so that we only walked the same distance on country roads or pavements! 25 of us set off from the Plough car park, in Farnsfield, and merrily made our way to the Coffee Shop at Hexgreave.

After Mince pies, cakes of all sorts, coffee and tea (no mulled wine this year) we walked back to the Plough. There we were joined by 3 more who had been unable to walk for various reasons. Gladys had liaised with the pub landlord (!!!!) to pre order our meals and provide a lovely room all to ourselves. Perhaps as well for we were buzzing! The main meals were very good especially the salmon and the puddings were delicious.

Unfortunately, the second Christmas Ramble in Chatsworth grounds has had to be postponed until January! So, we will be doing Thoresby and Chatsworth to start the New Year in style!!!
