A warm welcome to all our new members and postal members. There is so much on offer at Sherwood u3a, lots of different groups, social events, days out and holidays for you to enjoy. Because of the capacity of Turner Hall, postal members can’t come to all main meetings, so 10% of places of all social events, days out and holidays are reserved for you up to the end of the month when the bookings open. This gives you plenty of time to reserve your place. We welcome you all and hope that you take full advantage of all the activities that make Sherwood a popular and vibrant u3a. You are invited to a special coffee morning on Tuesday 7th May at 10.00 at Turner Hall. There will be displays from groups and the chance to meet group leaders and committee members. This is a chance to find out more about what we offer in a smaller group. You can also bring along friends who may be interested in finding out about Sherwood u3a. AGM The Business Secretary is giving notice that the Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday 9th May 2024 at 09:45 at Turner Hall, Welbeck Road, Mansfield Woodhouse. There are vacancies on the committee and anyone wishing to volunteer should inform the Business Secretary or any other Committee Member by Thursday 25th April. If there are more applicants than vacancies, then a vote will take place at the AGM. If you have Any Other Business that you wish to bring up at the AGM, please put this in writing to be received by the Business Secretary by 25th April. Please note that any items submitted after this date will not be considered at the AGM. The agenda and last year’s minutes will be published in the May newsletter but, if you wish to read these prior to the AGM please contact Claire Wilkie, Business Secretary.

What is the N.N.N.G.? It stands for North Notts Neighbourhood Group and is
unique in the u3a movement. Eight local u3as are in this Group – Dukeries (Ollerton), Forest Town, Mansfield, Rainworth, Sherwood (Woodhouse), Sutton, Worksop and Warsop. If they want to put on a big event, they join together to organize and support it. In the past we have had several Picnics in the Park at Rufford, Afternoon Teas at the Hostess and Prom Nights and Jubilee Celebrations at the John Fretwell Centre – this year – Picnic in the Forest!!!!
Welcome to Sherwood U3A, Mansfield Woodhouse
We are an organisation formed by local people whose aim is to work together to enjoy a variety of learning opportunities and social activities.
Our Members are retired or semi retired and generally over 50 (though there are no age constraints). Their objective is to share fun, friendship and informal learning in a vibrant, varied and enjoyable way.
This website is to provide potential members with some idea about what we offer, but more importantly the site is here to provide existing members with up-to-date information on what is available, what is happening in the future and what people have been doing at recent events.
